What is a honed tube?
A honed tube is a seamless steel tube whose internal bore has been precision honed to a micro-finished surface and tight H7 tolerance, so hydraulic piston seals run smoothly with minimal wear and leakage.
What bore sizes and lengths do you supply?
As a honed tube supplier in Ahmedabad we manufacture bores from 20 mm to 500 mm in lengths up to 5000 mm, including common sizes such as 40 × 50, 50 × 60, 63 × 76, 80 × 95, 100 × 114 and 125 × 145 mm.
What is the difference between honed tubes and DOM tubes?
DOM tube is drawn over a mandrel and needs further finishing, while a honed tube is delivered ready to use with an H7 bore and micro-finished surface. Honed tube gives better seal life and is the standard choice for hydraulic cylinder barrels.
Are your honed tubes tested?
Yes. Tubes are supplied to DIN 17175 standard, eddy current tested, tensile tested and annealed, with bore tolerance and surface roughness verified before dispatch.
